Zoologists have a wealth of knowledge to share with students, communities and the general public and are often involved in teaching and consultation roles in secondary education; universities and other tertiary institutions.

Futhermore, zoology graduates learn how to critically evaluate scientific evidence; develop research projects; organise and analyse data; and obtain oral and written communication skills which often lead to careers in journalism and the media as science writers, presenters and consultants.
